messagepub is a dead-simple messaging API that you can start using for your applications in less than 5 minutes. messagepub was built with the developer in mind. For most developers, it takes a lot of effort - too much effort - to set up an email server or service, an SMS gateway, or an IM bot.

First, the easiest way would probably be using cURL. It's any simple command-line tool for transferring files with URL syntax. It usually comes installed out of the box on most Linux distributions and Mac computers. We have cURL examples in our Api Reference.
We probably have a helper library for your favorite programming language. We currently have libraries for Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, and C# in our documentation. We will be releasing more libraries when we get new requests.
And if, finally, you do not find the library that you wanted to see, then we think that you can build it pretty quickly. If you want to be generous you can email it back to us. We'll post it for everyone else to use.

Well, right now, you can be one of the first to build something with messagepub. A lot of the inspiration for messagepub comes from ShareMeme - Your Intelligent Outbox. ShareMeme leverages much of the same technology.
We think that there could be a variety of apps built off of messagepub. Some ideas that could be viable are: a notification system for your app going offline or having an error, a email marketing service, or a marketing campaign that goes beyond just email.

Well... you can try to put up your own email server, set up your own SMS Gateway through a provider, put bots up on AIM and Jabber, make sure that your Twitter bot is indeed working, and make voice calls to others. And then you have to take care of every edge case, every exception and make sure that you have them covered. What happens when Twitter goes down, when your buddy is not online on IM, when IM servers restart and boot you out, etc... Does that sound hard, taxing, and time-consuming? Since we've already done all of that, we can tell you confidently that is that hard, taxing, and time-consuming. But guess what? Now, messagepub eliminates all that hard work. Yes we do. You are allowed to make 100 requests per hour to our API. We will block any requests that you send out once you've reached your limit.
